Thanks to the Rogues community members who have been working hard to fulfil the endless demands of the ever-greedy Mayor, the quest of the “Overgrown” lake has now been completed and the lake of Vulpgard has been unlocked for fishing. 🎉
In this article, we’ll go through the fishing mechanic in more detail, and get you familiarised in everything you need to know to begin fishing and optimise your fishing experience. Get ready to dive deep into the virtual waters and get the best catch in the game!
How does fishing work?
Fishing currently happens in the lake of Vulpgard and is one of the game mechanics already LIVE in the game. By successfully completing a fishing session, you can get multiple resources, including:
• Fish - gives you food
• Boots - for leather
• Letter in a bottle - don’t throw it away, its utility will be revealed soon
Fishing bonuses
Special fishing rods
These special fishing rods (only available for the Polygon rogues for now) give you extra bonuses so you can fish better and faster. 6 types of fishing rods are available:
Common (Common Rod of Fishing) → default, no bonuses
Uncommon (Fishing Sticks) → -5% Cooldown Time
Rare (Purple Rod of Fishing → -10% Cooldown Time
Epic (Rod of the Fisheye) → -20% Cooldown Time; +20% Fishing Reel Speed
Legendary (Jewel of the Nyle) → -50% Cooldown Time +50% Fishing Reel Speed
Ancient (Fukushyma Fish Catcher) → -100% Cooldown Time = No Cooldown!; +100% Fishing Reel Speed
Bonuses - explainedCooldown: When you get stung by a bee, you're unable to fish for a period of time. Some fishing rods reduce the time of a cooldown, and the Ancient Rod makes you immune to the Bee Sting.
Fishing reel: Once you've caught a fish, you start to reel it in. The Fishing Reel Speed bonuses reduce the time which take you to collect your fish, by increasing the "reel speed".

The fishing rod trait
Fishing rods give you bonuses in the fishing reeling speed & cooldown (there's something around the lake that is not your friend and slows you down). Playing with a fox with the fishing rod trait gives you a bonus of +10% fishing score!
