An overview of the plans for the $RGS token
The Rogues Studio team plans on launching the $RGS token in the second half of 2024.
They also have updated the tokenomics section in the whitepaper , here is an overview:
Token distribution
Why a token?
The token is necessary for the World of Rogues economics since it will be needed to convert an in-game item into an on-chain asset. This benefits blockchain enthusiasts to have full ownership of their assets and being able to trade them with other blockchain enthusiast players. Meanwhile the players who don’t have an interest in the blockchain can still enjoy their in-game items by not converting them into NFTs.
This also allows the NFTs to be used by multiple avatars and become more valuable.
Controlling the $RGS cost of this conversion is a key parameter in maintaining a healthy economic environment. Lowering it will encourage more conversions, increase the game’s $RGS treasury and promote trading. Increasing it will raise NFT game item values and slow trading.

This is a very important aspect of a healthy economy. Many in-game items are designed to only be valuable for a certain period of a player’s game journey. For example starter tools that only help with the beginner zones but become useless in the higher level zones of the game so players need to upgrade to new and better tools.
This means that players will want to sell their items the newer players, this will create a items with high velocity and a healthy economy with incomes from taxes or trading.
